It is literally the most basic ass ♥♥♥♥ that absolutely anybody with a functioning frontal cortex can figure out if they’ve even so much as touched a video game before. Then you hover down, then you make the arrow be in the circle, then you’re landed.

Elite was doing space stuff when EVE was just a tickle in its daddies sack. It also sounds like you think Elite: Dangerous is the only Elite game if you honestly think it's trying to be EVE Online when it's basically just a better looking version of the OG Elite. I'd love to see a "casual" player even try to land a Sidewinder in Elite. Even Star Citizen is more “hardcore” than Elite. EVE is what Elite tried to be before decided it would rather cater to the rejects from that game that didn’t want to put any effort besides an investment of time in to doing anything.

It caters exclusively to the most ephemerally casual audience in the genre who would rather listen to music or watch a movie with their game going in the background than actually play something. If you not are hardcore space simmer, who takes pride in flighing 90 minutes in supercruise to hutton orbitalĬalling Elite “hardcore” is laughable at best. Originally posted by Grisnir:Everspace 2 feels like an acarde version of E:D with some parts missing Those used to grind or look for metas on multiplayer games may feel like it's easier, specially because they said the game won't have much more than 25hs of playtime without repeating content (IIRC).ĭo you want to play this game because you think it is interesting on it's own, or are you looking to fill a gap for anything else? The reason I bought this game it's because I wanted exactly this. Now where I think Everspace outshines E:D greatly is because at least on my first 4hs I feel like all the combat I'm engaging has a purpose and I'm either doing that because I want to know what's guarded there or because I have a mission I'm know the purpose of. E:D felt more like the latter on that matter.Īs per EA state I think the game is heavily focused on exploration and combat, but that exploration is done without the same impact as E:D, or even NMS which honestly is a good exploration game for that matter. Personally, I won't say it's bad because I was used to it from the first game, but I definitely praise games with fixed inventory items like dark souls weapons or equipment, instead of random drops. Most of Everspace menu feels more like AAA ARPG invetories n such, not to say it's a bad thing, but it's more inclined towards that. Now there are some crucial things you need to ask yourself before thinking if this game is worth, coming from E:D.Ĭockpits will be noticeably different, mainly because E:D has most of menus and HUDs integrated in the cockpit. (I heard they now made that old DLC free, might be worth checking the game later). Honestly if I didn't had alternatives for space games I think I would play it more, but games like Everspace fills the something I miss from E:D. I was going for a 40k ship but I forgot it's name. Never mined, never traded aside from the tutorial area (when I was learning to fly everything on manual, even FTL fligh). Since then been experimenting with a lot of Ace Combat, which is more arcade but honestly if the fighting is engaging, challenging and exciting the game is worth for me.Īs such I played E:D only for combat. I played F22 when I was a kid and loved that game. Everything feels oversized and my impact in the world feels slim to none, and profit if not googled for can be really hard to achieve on your own, specially while learning about the game.Įverspace flies much more arcadely but honestly it's the best in the genre. While I enjoyed it to heck while learning to fly and fight, I didn't felt much compelled by anything.

I've enjoyed E:D and played it for I think 50hs.
